Episode six is named after a ballroom classic called Love is the Message, which is a 13-minute mix. It’s really about Pray Tell, Billy Porter’s character, and him not being able to stop playing the song. He’s dealing with the possible loss of this love in his life, and having to deal with loss over and over again as a black queer man in 1980s New York City who’s of a certain age and who, as we know from episode 4, has been diagnosed with HIV. And, of course, there’s also the meeting of Patty and Angel.
