It sucks that there’s a stigma in rap music, especially when you’re a Black man — people just assume that you’re rapping about trapping and women, but I’m actually very introspective and like to talk about the things I’m feeling. If I’m writing a song, then most likely it’s about things that have happened to me, are currently happening, or things that I aspire to be. Everyone just wants to put you in a box and because I wanted this project, in particular, to be groovy and have a dance vibe, people around me were saying I couldn’t do it and I should stick to what I know. Just because I’m a Black artist, they expect me to either be a really good singer or a really good rapper, but I can’t be both in their eyes.ContentView Iframe URLTeen Vogue slides adilette The idea of a potential Miley and Ariana collaboration isn't all that farfetched.
