As a double major in journalism and Africana Studies, Tandanpolie has learned techniques for reporting and writing stories about people of color. But, she says, she has received little training to face the backlash that can come from doing so. “People definitely talked about harassment casually in my classes," Tandanpolie recalls, "but I can't say that I've been feasibly prepared for it.” dunk atmos J-school student. She brushed it off, but had initially felt a pang of disbelief and fear. “It's not that I didn't expect any of that. It's just that it had been so long after the story came out,” she says. “I really sat and thought it through. What did you want to convey with the aesthetic and style of the project?L: dunk atmos Back at school, Emily approaches Addison after class when she realizes that there was no record that she left sick before swim practice. As a consequence, she suspends her from the upcoming meet, prompting Addison to coldly ask: “Are you sure you want to do that?” Um, pretty sure that you shouldn’t ever speak to a teacher or coach that way! After Addison leaves the room, she hides behind the corner and takes photos of Ali and Emily talking and hugging. What is this girl up to? dunk atmos
