Engaging young people about politics isn’t easy. Our current system has made young people feel like we don’t matter, that we aren’t knowledgeable enough to vote, or that voting actually perpetuates a system that harms us. These are myths. Through my work as an organizer, I have learned that one conversation can go a long way. One conversation can turn a nonvoter into a lifetime voter, and when it comes to getting young people to vote, it’s all about listening.
