"I grew up in L.A., so I was basically on a diet of entertainment since birth. It was never a question of whether or not I liked it because I was so immersed in it. I went to USC, where I felt really pressured to choose a major. At first I wanted to do music, but I felt it would really put me in a niche environment and I wasn't ready to do that yet. So, I chose art history with a minor in music—in songwriting. Art history was a great way to learn to look at things from a different perspective, and to learn how to write.
