From then, your experience as a Black person is full of continued attempts at conditioning and unlearning stereotypes. Before you can say who you are, before you can even experience it, society will tell you who you are. Laws, religions, politics all attempt to categorically define who we are, and you will either bend to their will or break your own back against the rules. This is why the coming of age for any Black person is a journey more unique than most.
