I got in for both and I chose to dance because my mom wanted me to do vocals—literally that’s the only reason why I chose dance. I was singing kind of all the time up until I was 11, and then I just started dancing, and got accepted to an Alvin Ailey program in a school in Washington Heights, and I just kind of got lost in the world.
