I'm going to write something bigger about it. But yeah, I did jump in front of a car when I was 15 and couldn't walk for three months, which really changed a lot of things. I realized who my friends were in Oklahoma because a lot of people that were even there at the event didn't come to the hospital. My mom told me that the next time somebody touched my hair that I'd have to go to the principal's office. If she hadn't told me that, I wouldn't have done that. That really was the point at which I started to stand up for myself. It still happened, and I'll explain to people why it's wrong, even though it's not my place to explain to them because it shouldn't... that should have been a given that they knew that you don't touch other people's hair, because it's dehumanizing.
